Six Months & A Day

I’m not one for New Years resolutions, as they are usually pretty cliché. Sure everyone get’s off on the right foot, going to the gym 3 times a week, watching what they eat, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, but no one ever follows through. After about a month, the gyms are empty, the smoothie stores are clear, and everyone is back to their old habits. This year, I did however make make a resolution, and guess what!? I totally haven’t done it! I’m one of those people! In fact I’m almost worst than one of those people, because I didn’t even start! Can you guess what my resolution was? You’re looking...

Falling for winter

It is the middle of October and my social media feeds are full of photos of the changing leaves, apple picking and of course pumpkin spice everything (come on people enough is enough). The air is crisp and fall fashion is at its peak, well, that’s at least true for all my friends up in the North East. Here in Austin I’m pining to wear my jeans and fall sweaters. It is still at least 85 degrees EVERYDAY, I don’t think summer will ever end. I can’t even ride my bike for 15 minuets downhill without sweating through my shirt, ek. However, Austin has really been great so far and has...

Voices

If you were to come looking for me on any given day, you’d probably find me bopping my head from underneath a pair of gigantic bass booster headphones. To keep the day interesting, I’m constantly on the look out for new music.  To me nothing is a better pick me up than brand new album or song, it can turn an otherwise drab weekday, into a rather remarkable one. I’ll regularly check out Spotify’s New Release section and check out a random band here and there but this week I was delightfully surprised to see that one of my favorite bands Phantogram, just released their new album ‘Voices’. I’ve been following this band for...

Hot Tea & Raw Honey

Over the weekend I finally caught the cold that has been going around what seemed to be everyone and everywhere. Since almost everyone I knew had it, it really was only a matter of time until I caught it. Although, I was still hoping I could avoid it all together, but what can you do? Today I wasn’t feeling any better so, I decided it’d be best to work from the comfort of my own home. Which I can now confirm to be the right decision since I’m feeling a lot better than I did this morning. It’s probably because I’ve had more than my fair share of tea with honey...

On The Farm

Earlier in the fall I purchased tickets to what would be my first ever corn maze. I had forgotten about the tickets until this past weekend, so yesterday, a friend and I made our way over to the farm to check it out. We made sure to go early as to leave enough time to navigate the maze. However, because neither of us had ever done a maze before, we grossly over estimated the amount of time it would take us. It’s either that or we’re just navigational experts. After shooting a couple photos at the entrance of the maze we were able to zip right through in under an...

Make It Monday | Fall Flower Crown

This spring and summer the flower crown trend exploded. I hadn’t gotten around to making one for myself during the warmer months, but I still wanted to give it a try. This past weekend I finally made my way over to my local Michaels store to pick up the supplies needed. While I was there I decided to see if this trend would translate over well into the fall. So, I picked out some faux flowers that I thought would work well for the season. Below you will find step by step instructions along with a view of the final product. We Can’t Stop, and We Won’t Stop

Everyone needs a little motivational reminder here and there, for myself I like to have a visual  reminder around the office or in the studio. Just recently I came across Zachary Gibson’s Motivational Poster series. These caught my eye because of the striking combination of bold color, simplistic text, and beautiful artwork.  I will definitely be grabbing one, if not all, of these posters in the near future. Check out more from Zachary Gibson  Zachary Gibson  //  Store...

A Night With G.D.F.A.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to see Brian Buirge and Jason Bacher, the dashing and witty minded men behind Good Fucking Design Advice. These young entrepreneurs were able to take a project that they started on the side, and make it into a full blow international business. Throughout their talk they regaled a wonderful and hilarious tale of the past three years of building their business. They recounted stories of creating their first flyer, to the trials and tribulations of their first posters, to the present day of touring around the country in their ’73 Dodge van. If you have a chance I highly suggest seeing them while they are on tour, and...

Something for your ears: Pyyramids

I’m always on the look out for new music and I think I might have just found a new obsession, Pyyramids debut album Brightest Darkest Day. It was released yesterday and I’ve already listened to it about 40 times. This dreamy and mysterious duo is made up of OK Go’s Tim Nordwind and singer/songwriter Dera Smith. Their style reminds me a little of Beach House, with haunting yet catchy  melodies and hard hitting beats that are somewhat danceable. Check them out! // Listen Here // Facebook // Twitter // Website //...
