Falling for winter

It is the middle of October and my social media feeds are full of photos of the changing leaves, apple picking and of course pumpkin spice everything (come on people enough is enough). The air is crisp and fall fashion is at its peak, well, that’s at least true for all my friends up in the North East. Here in Austin I’m pining to wear my jeans and fall sweaters. It is still at least 85 degrees EVERYDAY, I don’t think summer will ever end. I can’t even ride my bike for 15 minuets downhill without sweating through my shirt, ek. However, Austin has really been great so far and has so much to offer from concerts to food to sunny weather everyday. I can say that I do miss cool misty days and the fresh fall air of Vermont knowing that winter is just around the corner. Every year there was all this excitement for gearing up for the upcoming ski season. It is at this time I would start to plan out my perfect set up, so what should make this year any different? I mean Colorado is only a short plane ride away, right?

My picks for this years winter season

Winter 14/15 Picks

My obsession with Capita snowboards continues with this years Birds of a Feather. I absolutely love this graphic and I have to say that I’ve had the most fun ripping around the mountain on my last two Capitas. As for outerwear Holden’s line can’t be beat, I have had several of their jackets and they are seriously the best. They hit perfect line of function and unique style that you can rock not only on the mountain, but also in the streets. For boots this year I’m going bananas over Burton’s collaboration with Fry Boots. I mean seriously have you seen these?  You should have because they’re right up there, take another look at them, I’ll wait… These things are the ultimate lady snowboarders dream, I’m dying! I don’t even know if i’ll be able to hop on a board this year but I know I have to have them.

The weather may still be hot here in Austin, but opening day is only a month or so away, until then I guess I will continue to worship my air condition and pray for snow.
